Who We Are

Father's Heart Bible™ is published by Spirit Media Publishing. This Privacy Policy covers both the marketing site at fathersheartbible.com and the FH Family community at join.fathersheartbible.com. When this policy says "we," "us," or "Father's Heart Bible™," it means Spirit Media Publishing acting on behalf of the project.

Information You Give Us

  • Email address — required to sign in, download the free book, or join the FH Family community.
  • Name — required to participate in the community. You may use a display name of your choosing within our community guidelines.
  • Phone number — optional. Only collected if you choose to enter it for SMS updates.
  • Profile content — anything you add to your member profile (bio, location, "ask me about" line, avatar image).
  • Posts, comments, and direct messages you create inside the FH Family community.
  • Payment information — if you donate, payment details are collected by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
  • Communication preferences — your email and SMS opt-in status, captured with a timestamp when you consent.

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage data on fathersheartbible.com — pages visited, time on page, referring URL — via Google Analytics. We do not run analytics inside the FH Family community.
  • Server logs — IP address, user-agent, request path — recorded by Cloudflare for security and operational purposes.
  • Session cookies — strictly necessary for sign-in. These cookies do not track you across other sites.

How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver the service — sign you in, render the Bible reading, route your posts and reactions, deliver requested downloads.
  • To send transactional messages — sign-in links, profile confirmations, donation receipts.
  • To send occasional updates about Father's Heart Bible™ — only if you have opted in via email or SMS.
  • To process donations through Stripe on behalf of SM Gives, the giving brand of Spirit Media Charities (a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 88-4352701).
  • To moderate community content for safety. We use automated AI flagging (see "AI Moderation" below) plus human review by community moderators.
  • To improve our website and community based on how visitors and members use them.

Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on the following services to operate. Each has its own privacy practices; we encourage you to read theirs.

  • Supabase — database and authentication. Stores your account, profile, posts, comments, and direct messages. US-hosted.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, DDoS protection. Processes every request to our sites.
  • GoHighLevel (GHL) — customer relationship management, email delivery, SMS delivery. Holds your contact record (name, email, phone) and message history.
  • Sanity — content management for our marketing pages. Does not collect visitor data.
  • Stripe — payment processing for donations to SM Gives. Stripe handles your card data directly; we receive only a transaction confirmation.
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics on fathersheartbible.com only (not inside the community).
  • OpenAI and Anthropic — large language model providers used by our content-safety moderation agents. Flagged content excerpts may be sent for classification; we do not use these providers for training data.

AI Moderation

Inside the FH Family community, we run an automated content-safety agent ("Crisis Detector") that scans posts, comments, and direct messages for signs of abuse, harassment, crisis situations, or content that violates our community guidelines. Flagged content is reviewed by a human moderator before any action is taken. The agent itself does not see private information beyond the message text and the author's display name.

Cookies

We use cookies for two purposes:

  • Session cookies (community and marketing site) — required to keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary; without them, the service cannot function.
  • Analytics cookies (fathersheartbible.com only) — Google Analytics. You can opt out by disabling cookies in your browser or using the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on.

SMS Messages

SMS messages are sent only to members who have explicitly opted in by checking the SMS consent box and providing a phone number. We send no more than one SMS per month in normal operation, plus rare milestone messages. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any of our SMS messages to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help.

Web Push Notifications

If you grant permission, we may send web push notifications about new chapter openings, replies to your posts, or direct messages. You can revoke this permission at any time in your browser settings.

Children Under 13

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us at hello@spiritmediapublishing.com and we will delete it.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct — update or correct inaccurate data, either directly via your profile or by contacting us.
  • Delete — request deletion of your account and personal data. Donation records may be retained as long as required by IRS regulations (typically seven years).
  • Export — request a portable copy of your data.
  • Opt out — unsubscribe from marketing email or SMS at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint — if you are in the EU or UK, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

Data Retention

  • Active accounts — your data is retained while your account is active.
  • Deleted accounts — personal data is removed within 30 days of an account deletion request, except where retention is required by law.
  • Donation records — retained as long as required by IRS regulations (typically seven years).
  • Server logs — retained by Cloudflare per their default policy (typically 30 days).

California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These include the rights listed above plus the right to know what personal information we sell or share (we do not sell or share your personal information) and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

EU and UK Residents

If you are in the EU or UK, our lawful bases for processing your data are: contract (to provide the service you signed up for), consent (for marketing email and SMS), and legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, and improving the service). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service grows or the law changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app message.
